A real SQLite engine

Queries run on SQLite via sql.js 1.13 (WebAssembly), bundled with the site and executed in a Worker. Window functions, CTEs, JSON functions and UPSERT behave exactly as in SQLite. Every run starts with an empty in-memory database, so scripts are reproducible.

Dialect scope

This is SQLite, not MySQL or PostgreSQL. Dialect-specific syntax such as SERIAL, ILIKE or stored procedures will fail with SQLite’s own error message. Formatting uses sql-formatter with the SQLite dialect and uppercases keywords.

Result tables show up to 1,000 rows each; statements that change data report how many rows they affected.

How to use it

  1. Press Run to create the orders table and run both queries.
  2. Edit the GROUP BY query and run again.
  3. Format with Shift+Alt+F.

Questions

Is data kept between runs?

No. Each run uses a fresh in-memory database so results are deterministic. Keep your setup statements at the top of the file.

Can I connect to my own database?

No. The editor never opens network connections; it only runs SQLite locally.

Which SQL features are supported?

Everything in SQLite 3, including window functions, common table expressions and JSON functions.
